Week 10 - Piano lesson

Something I have always wanted to be able to do, so as good a time as any to start. A good introduction that has whet my appetite for more

Not too much to say about this week really and sadly no pictures to share again, but learning to play the piano is one of those things that I always wished I had done when I was younger. This week I took the first step towards this by taking a piano lesson.

Especially recently, travelling a lot from St. Pancras Intl. train station, where there are a couple of pianos in public that allow anyone to step up and give a performance - it's something I'd really love to give back having often enjoyed listening to others playing whilst walking through the station.

Although I have previously taught myself some parts of songs by copying YouTube videos I have never been properly taught music theory, cannot read music particularly effectively any more and am certainly not able to translate sheet music into piano notes; so this was a really good introduction.
The lesson itself was fairly short at only 30 minutes, but was long enough to get a lot of the basics in and begin my learning, covering basic scales, chords and chord progressions that make up the basis of any music.

Hopefully this is something that I will really keep up and will be able to make rapid progress with, seeing as it is something that I genuinely enjoy doing, hopefully by the end of the year I should be able to share some impressive videos of my playing.
