I am looking to take part in a running event, a swimming event, a cycling event and ultimately a triathlon at some point this year as some of my new things (spoiler alert), so I have decided to put some year long training targets in place to ensure that I am going to be in a good position when I come to do them and also just to increase my fitness.
The targets?
2013km cycling
150km swimming
250km running
Although the cycling is a huge distance (working out at an average of 5.5km a day, I honestly think the running is going to be by far the hardest since I find running exceptionally boring. However running is the thing I need to concentrate on the most if I am going to finish a running event without embarrassing myself and is the portion of the triathlon I'm going to need the most preparation in.
So I've now joined the local gym so I can get some swimming lengths in, I am running during lunch at work with the help of Zombies, Run! and hopefully when the snow buggers off I will continue cycling to work.
I will be putting a weekly and running total in my post each week to keep track. Any bets on my chances of pulling it off?
